Your Ekub, in the open.
Who paid, who receives next, and when. One shared record for the admin and every member.
Ekub records money. It never holds it.
How a round works
- 1
Agree the rules
Amount, schedule and how the recipient is chosen. Versioned, so nobody changes them quietly.
- 2
Join the group
Members join with an invite code. Anyone without the app is added offline.
- 3
Record each payment
With a receipt or reference. Everyone sees what is confirmed.
- 4
Choose the recipient
Fixed order, random draw or agreed order, in view of the whole group.
- 5
Close the payout
The recipient confirms receipt, and the next round opens.
Rules that protect trust
Fewer arguments about who paid and who is next.
No silent edits
A correction reverses the old entry and records the new one. Both stay visible.
Submitted is not Confirmed
Only payments the admin or co-admin has checked count towards the pot.
Payout says why
If the pot isn't ready, Ekub names who is missing.
Two people for risky changes
Changes to the draw or a payout need the co-admin's approval.
Opens when all are confirmed, or the co-admin approves an exception.

What Ekub is not

Not a lender
No loans, no credit score.
Not a marketplace
Private groups only. No strangers.
Questions
Does Ekub hold our money?
No. Members pay the way they do today, and Ekub records it.
Does every member need the app?
No. Members can use the app to see their own status, or open the group's status link from WhatsApp. The admin records payments for anyone offline.
What if a payment is recorded wrongly?
It is corrected, not erased. The old entry is reversed with a reason, and both stay in the history.
How is the recipient chosen?
By the method the group agreed: fixed order, random draw or agreed order. Draws run on Ekub's server, which records the time.
Who can see phone numbers?
Only the admin and co-admins. They never appear in updates or on the status page.
Which phones does it work on?
Android phones, including low-cost ones, with an Ethiopian (+251) number. English for now.
Can I close my account?
Yes, in the app under Profile → Close account, or on the web.
One record. The same numbers for everyone.
The Android app is in pilot.
